My name is Catie. Sometimes known as Cathy or Gweny.
I am a 22-year-old university student from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I recently graduated from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, where I studied political science and history. In September I am moving to the United Kingdom to complete a law program at Oxford Brooke’s University.
School is important to me, but it is only a fraction of my life.
I still do not know what I want to do with my life, but I think writing a blog about my process is a good start. I do have goals and dreams, but when you are 21 there is still a lot to do before those can become a full reality. And that’s okay. I’m in no rush.
Something really important to me is relationships, whether it be with friends, family or with a boy. Throughout high school and university, I have met some amazing people and have made so many unforgettable memories. I don’t even know where to start. I may not be as intense and exciting as Alex Cooper from Call Her Daddy, but I definitely have a few good stories up my sleeve. I hope to share some of my experiences with you, and maybe you can find some comfort in my life or find some useful tools and tricks. I don’t even know if I have any tips or tricks, but I can try.
There’s something so special to me about writing a blog. Whenever I read blogs by some of my favourite influencers, like Indy Blue, I get a certain warm feeling inside me. Knowing that there is someone else on the other side of the screen writing about a real lived experience or a real emotion. It’s not fiction. It is quite honestly a less intimate version of someone’s diary. It’s really remarkable that I get to read something that someone is committing themselves to. Hopefully, you get the same feeling from me. Maybe you’ll consider me a friend of some sort, like I do when I read other people’s blogs.
